This Thursday I’ll be doing a live presentation/Q&A at The Stoa about artistry in the age of artificial intelligence.
There has been a small flood of material published recently about the subject and I’ve gobbled up most of it, so I believe I can make the following promise—this presentation will (likely) be the most comprehensive and provocative presentation of the current artistic predicament available.
But part of that will depend on the value of the Q&A after, so I emphatically invite any who are interested to attend and to contribute to the conversation as a means to synthesize new orientations to the artistic process.
Hope to see you there. This Thursday, April 20th, 6 PM Eastern, 3 PM Pacific.
It further cripples the human exceptionalism position used to deflect artist’s concern. The notion that “AI can’t produce human emotion the way Human artists can” is already on its back. However this has less to do with how amazing the AI art is, and more to do with how synaptically shallow the consumer of art is.
In that case how do you feel about the Sony Photography Awards and an A.I. image winning? https://www.cnn.com/style/amp/ai-photo-win-sony-scli-intl/index.html
